Al Battaar is a laser guidance bomb kit attached to the nose and tail of the GP (General Purpose) Bombs. It can be carried and launched from all NATO aircraft and is designed for use when attacking soft, hard, slow moving, and stationary targets. The weapon will deploy from a variety of different launch scenarios (high/low level, dive/loft deliveries). Al Battaar is capable of a single or multiple carriage on host aircraft. Guidance is provided by laser energy reflected from the illuminated target, illuminated by the delivery aircraft, another aircraft, or a ground designator. Flight can be divided into three phases: Ballistic, Acquisition, and Terminal Guidance.
